Nevermind the dodgy music, this is the brilliantly funny and surprisingly moving documentary about the Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, directed by screenwriter Sacha Gervasi (2008).

At first, given the throbbing rock clichés, I actually thought this was some kinda spoof-doc, and it took me awhile to realise that it was indeed the real thang, dude.

Their quixotesque passion and beautiful friendship is a wonderful reminder that in this life, you just gotta try to do what you love doing, regardless.

Get some popcorn a'poppin and have some kleenex at the ready.
